And tomato vines yellow,
The garden tired,
Leaves sallow,
As summer succumbs
To seasonal drought.
Each year I’m surprised—
Not sure why,
The weather’s warm
Yet the flowers stop.
I want them to defy
Entropic logic
The cosmic clock,
Time’s palsy.
Rebel and grasp
The quicksilver of now,
Resist the fall…
