Alex, you're better than an editor :) Usually my wife catches errata but she's exhausted from transcribing my various works from my website to an external hard drive. I'm exhausted too - only got 4 hours sleep the night before and was up early posting this. As you can see, I posted the chapters out of order - wasn't sure if Hive would let me delete and start over since it's a blockchain, but went ahead anyway and only received meagre rewards for hours of work. Grrr!

I'm writing West Harbour in instalments as I go, sort of like Dickens, although he at least was paid by the word, lol. There's something lost and gained by this method - sometimes the writing can be a bit raw and I don't have the luxury of several re-edits or polishing and revising but what the hell--I did this with Her Thirties and lived it each day like the characters. Now that it's all done, I really miss them - I guess you go through that too - but what's Cherine to you or you to Cherine that you should weep for her? ...Sorry for the fractured allusion to Hamlet but these things I do.

In response to your queries, yes I intended the first one, left out an apostrophe on the second and constantly agonize over the third. I like ellipsis, the deliberate omitting of connectives simply because it's more neat and elegant, like Symbolist poetry. I often drop redundant words because it's more like conversational speech and I've elected to adopt this mode of narration ie. participant narrator, because it's more immediate.

And already I've written a small book in response to a few simple questions, lol.
