In madness there is freedom of loneliness and safety from being
understood, for those who understand us enslave something in us.

― Kahlil Gibran

Two days of rain
And misty slumber

Inspire longings
For ancient wonders—

Riddles of rain,
Conundrums of thunder.

Those within
Know nothing out,

The icy chill
Walks glazed with frost;

Their elements
Sepia stained

Mere shadows
Upon a window pane.

But madmen and poets
Venture out

Into drizzly depths
Of chilling fog,

To hear bass flats
Of foghorns' tones,

And treasure notes
Of mournful songs.
