Sometimes we forget
We're spinning

Tilting toward and away
From the sun,

And in mid-November,
Light changes

Each day in the month.

An overcast day such as this one--
Only three, and the lamps are on;

Some find dark and dismal
But I love frost at dawn.

When the sky darkens
Leaves brighten,

When leaves are gone
Snow falls;

Midnight may be cold and still,
But roofs are white at dawn.
