You and I are black and white - a film noir, a silent film of gestures.

The wind wraps itself
Around you,
Stealing your shape;

Then afterwards in rain,
Taunts me
With your wraith.

Well, I'm ruined,
Desolate
As any wreck,

Made peace
With rain—
And its mists never left.

Your gravity
Bends my words
Out of shape…

Then, suddenly, before me,
Your sad,
Wistful face.
