Survivors.jpg

The ancient stones
Are silent.

The bones of the earth
Are quiet.

When I visit ruins
At twilight

It’s perfect
For being alone.

Under the stars
In a field

Stand sorrows
That cannot be healed,

They stand
Mute and alone

Unnoticed,
Impervious to blows,

Haunted by ghosts
Of the past

Unnoticed...
Much like us.
