I had a couple of hours to work on it today and started adding an earring as well as a bit of detail on the ear.
Hair is a bit daunting so I tend to leave that until later on but truthfully once I start on it I realise it’s not hard at all. Just a bunch of lines!
One point I want to highlight is I am mainly interested in shading. I want to master that aspect the most. With outlines I don’t use any kind of grid or taught technique. Just my eyes and I adjust proportions as I go along. It all comes down to how keenly you can train your eye to observe. No need for tools and grids if you develop that skill.
