Greetings brothers.
My reflection today has to do with the supreme value that God assigns to love.
The notion of "true love" predominates in popular culture. We buy cards with poetic messages, we look for the perfect gift and we plan romantic dates with the illusion of pleasing the person who makes us sigh.
God assigns supreme value to love (1 Cor 13:13) and delights to express his wonderful love to us. However, most of the time we do not feel loved. The same thing happens to you? It is because sin has spoiled our ability to process God's love, receive it completely and correspond with our love.
Thank God that our Savior, Jesus Christ, has remedied this problem!
By getting rid of the power of sin and providing us with a new nature, we can now understand, even a little, the wonderful love that our heavenly Father has for us.
Divine love is unconditional. He loves us no matter who we are, where we have been or what mistakes we have made. What matters to the Lord is that we belong to him.
His love for us is also absolute. It never oscillates or varies, and knows no limits. He always seeks the best for us, helping us to grow so that we are like Jesus. Even when God disciplines us, He does it as a loving Father.
Understanding how much we are loved and accepting God's love for us, frees us to live and love in God's way.
By loving him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we find the wisdom and power to love our fellow men.
How is the love of God?
Loving God means that we spend time deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ. We love him when we give ourselves wholeheartedly to meet him and learn what he likes. We express our love by giving and making a firm commitment to obey him.
The word of God also tells us that when we love others, we love Jesus (Mt 25:40). Loving others in God's way means that we will seek the best of God for them. We will ask you to show us what we can say and do for the benefit of others. We will try to answer this question: How can I edify this person and help them grow to be more like Christ? When we love people in obedience to God, we will look for ways to express God's love. Love shows that we belong to Jesus (Jn 13:35).
We were created to love God and our neighbor. Dear son of God, I invite you to receive today the torrent of love that God wants to overwhelm in your life.
