While the blocky nature to the weather pattern is till going to hang around a bit, the North Atlantic Oscillation goes from negative to neutral at best. That means some hint of blocky-ness will remain as we go toward the rest of this week. Also the troughing in the East continues into next week. At least it will try and warm up in between though I don't see any really hot weather coming east anytime soon.
This carries into almost mid month with near or below average temperatures (overall) here in the East. Of course cold front provide opportunities for warm ups and the threat for showers and thunderstorms but for now at least I don't see any whole day wash outs. This includes this weekend when showers and thunderstorms could come into the mix but they certainly should not be all day affairs.
Skies should be clear overnight with cool temperatures in the 50. Then a cold front approaches for Tuesday. We have more on the short range forecast in our latest local weather post.
