Taking a look at what he has built since he left... why would Steemit inc. let such a magnificent asset just abandon the company? If he wanted a bigger slice of the company then for God's sake give him what he deserves! He has been involved or directly built himself the best performing PoS blockchain besides Ethereum.
All we can do now is just wait and see how this new dapp will affect the steem ecosystem... even it could end up being beneficial if the efforts made by community developers such as aggroed succeed to keep this platform's neck under the water... we shall see
