taken by: Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016 Winner,!!! Tim Laman,
enjoy an impressive picture!!! taken 30 meters ABOVE ground!!!
(
what is even crazier?
He won by taking the picture with a go pro hero 4!!!??
GoPro HERO4 Black; 1/30 sec at f2.8; ISO 231
so basically.... a young male orangutan .....
makes a 30-meter.....about 100 feet climb ....
up the thickest root he could find.....
to feast on the crop of figs.
of the strangler fig... that has entwined itself around a tree!!!
in the rich rain forest of the Gunung Palung National Park
in West Kalimantan.... on the island of Borneo!
so Tim...had to do three days of climbing up and down himself....
by rope.....
to place in position several Go Pro cameras that he could then trigger remotely...
Awsome job Tim!
they sure made you work for your prize.....LOL
but in the end it paid off :-)
great picture!
enjoy!
