just to take this picture took six weeks!!!!
It took six weeks and a series of disasters......
before the moment a group of males take a breath......
within a teardrop area of water..... surrounded by a pattern of melting ice.
this picture was entered in the wildlife photographer of the year competition of the natural history museum of London....which started in the 1960s!!!
