Cravings satisfied!

"My mind exclaimed for happiness as I finally satisfy my hunger."

InCollage_20230508_192537879.jpg

Last Sunday, while scrolling on my phone, I'm a bit starving due to taking care of my children, household chores, and thinking about what could be our viand for dinner. Coincidence it may sound, I have available lettuce and bottle gourd and what's lacking is protein. My mind thinks of a Samgyupsal! Let's see what we can do.

Meanwhile, before the crime of thinking began, I bought a bottle gourd around somewhere in Tabogon. It just happen that we passed by this mini store selling vegetables available in their garden. It weighs 2 kilograms and paid for 50 pesos only.

As I get the vegetable, I keep on asking the store owner. Hehe

Let's get the bottle gourd begin!馃榿

I will make this as a side dish of my Samgyupsal.

First, peeling bottle gourd is a necessity. Cut them into two to easily cut flesh.

IMG_20230228_181338.jpg

It has a lot of seeds. It cannot be eaten, then I keep it so I can sow it when the time comes.

IMG_20230228_180258.jpg

It has sturdy skin that it's impossible to eat or cook. I just throw it properly.

IMG_20230228_181245.jpg

Its soft and white flesh is so easy to cut. Its strong outer serves as protection to its soft inner. How amazing.

Let's start cooking

IMG_20230228_181747.jpg

Prepare the pan and preheat the oil. Then join the minced garlic until it turns brown. It's good to add onion, but I don't have it available.

IMG_20230228_181805.jpg

IMG_20230228_182529.jpg

Put the bottle gourd flesh. Season with salt and pepper then soy sauce. Cover.

IMG_20230228_182824.jpg

Need not put water because it produces water already.

IMG_20230228_183228.jpg

Now, it's done!

IMG_20230228_184316.jpg

Bought 1 kilo of stripped pork. I purposely want this so I would feel like I'm in a Korean restaurant馃. Its belly part brings more oil and no bones. Its thinly sliced looked more delicious when it is cooked. Before laying it on the pan, I drizzle it with salt only.

IMG_20230228_184715.jpg

No Korean grilled pan? No problem! I only use my historical pan馃榿. Preheated the pan and put directly the thinly sliced pork. I did not put oil since pork will produce soon.

IMG_20230228_185432.jpg

Almost cooked!

IMG_20230228_185916.jpg

My available lettuce at home. Properly washed and shred.

IMG_20230228_190907.jpg

Wow! Seems like a real Samgyup huh?

IMG_20230228_191634.jpg

Cutting the cooked pork would be easy for us to eat.

IMG_20230228_191344.jpg

Let's eat! This preparation is for two! While cooking I've done multi-tasking which is I let my kids eat and while blogging. Wait what? Hehe

Zoom in, Zoom out馃い

As I saw from another diner, they pick a sheet of lettuce then wrap it with pork or with other side dishes available then get it in their mouth. That's what I do this time, made me realize that I can do it at home. No need for me to travel far. However, the disadvantage is there are some dishes to wash! Haha.

Well, anyway I enjoyed doing it at home and I can do whatever I want to my leftovers unlike "unli restaurants" that they let the diner pay for their leftovers and then weigh them according to grams, and the experience I have is worth keeping.

That's all for today's foodie blog Hivers! See you next time 馃.
