Dr Alban and Haddaway played at the Village Green early 1990s. Dr Alban is famous for his worldwide 1992 hit It’s My Life, while Haddaway is best known for his 1993 hit single What Is Love.
Before the end of apartheid if I remember correctly, Winter month making it July/August, with one sick son (with a cold,) both boys would not hear about us cancelling their first live music concert.
Bundled up warm with hats and jackets we drove into Durban to spend a brilliant evening under the 'big top', (large tent with canvas walls) not very well attended by the locals. A night to remember for the few who arrived, Dr Alban and Haddaway gave us the treat of a lifetime, happy and energized we returned home.
Alban Uzoma Nwapa (born 26 August 1957 in Oguta), better known by his stage name Dr. Alban, is a Nigerian-born Swedish recording artist and producer with his own record label, Dr. Records. His music can best be described as a Eurodance/hip-hop reggaein a dancehall style.
He sold an estimated 16 million records worldwide and is most famous for his worldwide 1992 hit "It's My Life" which was one of the songs from the album One Love. Source

Concert a warm balmy Durban late Summer, phoned some friends meeting up for a great night out once again. Well attended even bumping into people we had not seen for ages. Night under the stars thumping to Phil's concert.

'Africa' was written by Toto members David Paich and Jeff Porcaro
Paich explained that the song is about a man’s love of a continent, Africa, rather than being about a personal romance. He based the lyrics on a late night documentary with depictions of African plight and suffering.
