Change Of The Guard

Hello from the garden, somewhere I have not taken anyone around for awhile, heading into winter months our gardens come alive with different forms of life down here in Durban.

First up yesterday a Common Zebra Blue butterfly (Leptotes pirithous) now why would I get excited, well it has itself deeply attached to the Pink blue Aechmea, apocalyptica gamesopela bromeliad flower, bromeliada are flowering around in pots in the ground everywhere I separated them to give them space, I don't believe I have seen this particular butterfly previously.

Trippy edges and unusual markings are and art-form one has to really see to appreciate the beauty around us, not so...

Under the Bugweed, bugs are bugging, well this is something invasive I only just learned through researching, to be removed soon, more gardening to be done, removing sword fern that is creeping in everywhere!

Vervet monkey sitting pulling a face to let me know they are foraging above on berries all ripe up top in the tree at this time of year.

Oh did I mention spiders webs are thriving in every corner of the garden too? Will save some amazing webs big and small!

Woody enjoys time out redesigning his patch of fern garden, not sure what he finds so interesting with the roots of this one always reminds me of a cat with catnip, just look at that face....

White-eared barbet chatting across in another garden taking off to carry on with daily chores, birds come and go, perhaps following fruit trail. now arrived back to enjoy berries and cooler months here.

Other side Mr and Mrs Sparrow are sizing up where they going to make home, more than likely in the eaves...

Not sure what the helicopter was doing up and down the valley, noisy humans and their machines.... Light aircraft use the valley for practice flights, normally helicopters coming over are police, this is however red so privately owned.

Flowers around the garden, first up the 3-leaf clover tiny little blooms.

Strelitzia blooms with sun going down earlier in the background.

Now for the part to make me smile, is this twig and leaf falling?

Have a fun day wherever you are in the world, appreciate nature and everything she offers you.
