Waterfowl South Africa

Photography hunt for waterfowl on this round, here we go with some photographs not shared previously, be sure many to go through over the years some most distinguishable known at sight others would possibly require more research.

Gliding up the river two Yellow-billed ducks with an Egyptian goose, all waddling along at the own pace happy together on a Sunday morning while out walking in January 2017 before our rivers became so contaminated.

Both the duck and goose are found along our waterways throughout the country.

Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) inland at mountain resort, obviously the cooler weather nor higher altitude affect these birds, October 2020.

Yellowbilled duck (Anas undulata) padding alongside the river locally when river filled and spilled onto the grass alongside, safe place to enjoy nibbling away at the grasses or whatever rose beneath their feet in February 2017

Cape Shoveller duck (Anas smithii) Not 100% correct about identification, paddling in shallow waters with ducklings in tow while visiting iSimangaliso Wetlands Park in June this year.
