Several days ago, I had the opportunity to visit Baures, a wonderful and hidden place deep in the Bolivian Amazon. Being used to the hustle and bustle and comforts of downtown Santa Cruz, I found it challenging to adapt at first. The insects were abundant, and the place where I stayed didn鈥檛 have air conditioning.
Despite these differences, the experience was unique and enriching. During the trip, I met incredible people, enjoyed delicious food, and was amazed by the natural landscapes that surrounded me. Below, I share some pictures that capture the beauty of Baures and the moments I experienced there.
Hace ya varios d铆as tuve la oportunidad de visitar Baures, un lugar maravilloso y escondido en plena Amazon铆a boliviana. Acostumbrado al bullicio y las comodidades del centro de Santa Cruz, al principio me cost贸 adaptarme. Los insectos eran numerosos y, en el lugar donde me aloj茅, no hab铆a aire acondicionado.
A pesar de estas diferencias, la experiencia fue 煤nica y enriquecedora. Durante el viaje, conoc铆 personas incre铆bles, disfrut茅 de una gastronom铆a deliciosa y me dej茅 maravillar por los paisajes naturales que me rodeaban. A continuaci贸n, comparto algunas im谩genes que capturan la belleza de Baures y los momentos que viv铆 all铆.
I had the opportunity to carry out my field photography work in the Amazon, specifically in one of the areas where wild cacao is harvested. It was an unforgettable experience, completely different from anything I had ever lived before. The connection with nature, the sound of the trees swaying in the wind, and the aroma of freshly harvested cacao created a magical atmosphere I will never forget.
The process of harvesting wild cacao is truly fascinating. I observed up close how the harvesters work carefully and respectfully with the forest, valuing each fruit as if it were a treasure. Of course, not everything was easy鈥攍iving with so many mosquitoes was a constant challenge, although it didn鈥檛 take away from the beauty of the moment!
Tuve la oportunidad de realizar mi trabajo de fotograf铆a de campo en la Amazon铆a, en una de las zonas donde se cosecha cacao silvestre. Fue una experiencia inolvidable y completamente distinta a cualquier otra que hab铆a vivido antes. La conexi贸n con la naturaleza, el sonido de los 谩rboles al moverse con el viento, y el aroma del cacao reci茅n recolectado crearon un ambiente m谩gico que dif铆cilmente olvidar茅.
La recolecci贸n del cacao silvestre es un proceso fascinante. Vi de cerca c贸mo los recolectores trabajan con cuidado y respeto hacia el bosque, valorando cada fruto como si fuera un tesoro. Por supuesto, no todo fue sencillo, convivir con tantos mosquitos fue un reto constante, 隆aunque eso no le quit贸 belleza al momento!
Reaching each location to take the photographs was a very challenging journey, full of obstacles that tested my resilience and patience. The trails were narrow and often covered by the dense jungle vegetation, which made progress slow and demanding.
Llegar a cada lugar para tomar las fotograf铆as fue un camino muy complicado, lleno de desaf铆os que pusieron a prueba mi resistencia y paciencia. Los senderos eran estrechos y a menudo cubiertos por la densa vegetaci贸n de la selva, lo que hac铆a que avanzar fuera lento y exigente.
In the end, it was all worth it. I鈥檓 sharing these images in the hope that they inspire you to visit Baures, an incredibly beautiful place, full of magic, nature, and, of course, plenty of chocolate, haha!
