Hello all!
In a previous post I discussed how Cointiply added the ability to earn 5% interest on balances of more than 35,000 coins and how their security was not quite ready for the feature. Well, Cointiply has officially added Two Factor Authentication. Before this addition it left any deposits that you made to the site open to someone logging in to your account and stealing all of your hard earned Bitcoin. But what is Two Factor Authentication?
Two Factor Authentication is a second layer of security for an account. This feature comes in a variety of methods. Cointiply has 3 different ways to enable Two Factor Authentication at the time of this article.
The first method is a PIN code, which will be asked to be provided when logging in to a new browser or IP Address. This is a 4 character PIN, which is not limited to numbers.
The second method is E-Mail authentication, in which a code will be sent to the e-mail address linked to your Cointiply account. Upon receiving this code you will then input that code in to the appropriate section during the login process.
The third and final method is an Authentication App (such as Google Authenticator). This method is activated by scanning a QR Code in your Authenticator app. Once it has been linked a new code will be generated after a specific amount of time, constantly.
So how do you enable this cool feature on Cointiply? Well, currently on the Home Page directly under the User Activity section is an advertisement for this feature. Clicking on that hyperlink will take you to your Account Settings page. Once there, you can click on the Security Settings tab and activate it from there.
The other way to get to that screen (when they are no longer advertising it on the homepage) is to click on your Nickname in the top right bar next to your account balance. When the drop down menu opens, click on Settings/Premium. Once there, the steps are the same as the first method.
Happy Earnings!
