I have been experimenting trying out embroidery on different surfaces. Today I went to the store and purchased an inexpensive tote bag that could be embroidered on so that I could practice.
I have already purchased a couple of very nice beach bags that I want to embroider, but I don’t want to experiment on them just in case my methodology is still not right.
I only have three fonts that I can use on my machine, and this machine is not modern enough to download additional fonts from the Internet. I have found some additional embroidery chords with other images on them, but they are running about $50 apiece. I don’t want to spend that much for embroidery carts for a machine with outdated technology.
I can buy a much newer machine for around $600 that would be much more advanced and easier to use. I just can’t afford to spend that much money on another machine since I already have several.
If anything, I would like to buy a variable speed pottery wheel, but that would cost around $1000. So in the meantime I will use what I have available that has already been paid for while I am still sheltering at home.
I would actually prefer to spend my time traveling, but that is not in the cards right now, so I am using my artistic skills while I wait for the world to get back to normal.
Enjoy your day.
