Part two of our visit to the Provincial Cultural Museum (Spanish/English).

Los que semanalmente siguen mis posts seguro recordarán que les vengo comentando que en la ciudad se están recuperando muchos edificios antiguos que se encuentran en el casco ¨historico¨:  que están en desuso; uno de ellos es aquel que compartí en el ¨post¨:  de la semana pasada, donde recorrimos parte de su interior. Esta semana deseo me acompañen a ver otra área del precioso¨museo¨: que les había enseñado hace algunas semanas.

Those who follow my posts weekly will surely remember that I've been mentioning how many old buildings in the city's historic center are being restored."historico": These buildings are currently disused; one of them is the one I shared in last week's "post": where we explored part of its interior. This week I'd like you to join me in exploring another area of the beautiful "museum": that I showed you a few weeks ago.

La verdad es que seguir la sugerencia que nos hizo el instituto de ¨cultura¨: ha sido genial. Este precioso museo ¨historico¨: valio la pena conocer, sobre todo porque a los más pequeños de la casa les encantó saber sobre la existencia de esta preciosa casona y todas las historias de los elementos gustados y expuestos en el recorrido que interviene la visita guiada. Lo bueno de este espacio cultural es que se puede visitar por la mañana como por la tarde, algo muy conveniente, sobre todo para las personas que están en la ciudad de vacaciones.

The truth is that following the suggestion made by the "cultura": institute has been fantastic. This beautiful "historico": museum was well worth visiting, especially because the youngest members of the family loved learning about the existence of this beautiful mansion and all the stories behind the items they enjoyed and saw on the guided tour. The great thing about this cultural space is that it can be visited both in the morning and afternoon, which is very convenient, especially for people who are in the city on vacation.

Algo que atrajo a mis seres queridos de este ¨espacio¨:  es la arquitectura; les encantó ver cómo eran los interiores de este tipo de casas coloniales, las galerías que abarcan la circunferencia de la propiedad y los espaciados patios con su tradicional aljibe, algo que el museo conserva en excelente estado. El espacio al aire libre la este ¨institución¨:  los aprovecho muy bien, exponiendo artículos que tienen que ver con las diferentes batallas que se libraron en esta zona del país. Ver los artículos bélicos expuestos te hace dimensionar cómo tuvieron que haber sido las batallas que se llevaron a cabo en esta parte del mundo.

Something that attracted my loved ones to this "space": is the architecture; they loved seeing the interiors of these colonial houses, the galleries that run around the perimeter of the property, and the spacious courtyards with their traditional cisterns, which the museum preserves in excellent condition. The outdoor space is also used very well by this "institution":, displaying artifacts related to the various battles fought in this region of the country. Seeing the war artifacts on display gives you a sense of the scale of the battles that took place in this part of the world.

Es tanto el material que está expuesto en el área libre del ¨museo¨:  que tuvimos que hacer otro post más sobre ellos. En la tercera parte de nuestra ¨visita¨: les iré enseñando las exposiciones que tienen que ver con muebles antiguos, instrumentos musicales, vestimentas de la época y una importante colección de objetos históricos. La verdad es que estas vacaciones de invierno han sido un poco atípicas, y todo estuvo relacionado con las bajas temperaturas que hemos tenido durante la visita de mi hijo y mis nietas. En el post que viene ya vamos a recorrer algunos de los siete salones que tienen las exposiciones.

There is so much material on display in the open area of the "museum": that we had to write another post about it. In the third part of our "visit":, I will be showing you the exhibits related to antique furniture, musical instruments, period clothing, and an important collection of historical objects. The truth is, these winter holidays have been a bit unusual, and it was all related to the low temperatures we experienced during my son and granddaughters' visit. In the next post, we'll explore some of the seven exhibition halls.
