All these photographs were taken during the early hours of this morning. Last night we had a storm—lightning, thunder, and plenty of rain once again—so it was a safe bet that sunrise would bring a thick fog, streets still damp with puddles adding visual interest to the shots, people who seemed to still be dwelling on the previous night's storm, and, of course, the occasional dog peeing on a street corner and a pigeon flying past as if in slow motion... Because, believe it or not, this town—its streets, I mean—seems to conspire to make a strange guy like me wander aimlessly from place to place, without a fixed course, without coherent thoughts, and without any precise reason I could convincingly explain to anyone... The photographs just happen; I suppose I’m just out there observing and stealing moments in time... The photos are merely an offshoot manifesting around this core of detachment and lost memories—or so I suppose...

Todas estas son fotografías hechas durante las primeras horas de la mañana de hoy. Anoche tuvimos tormenta con rayos, truenos y un montón de lluvia nuevamente, así que hoy era prácticamente seguro que la el amanecer traería consigo un montón de niebla, calles aún húmedas, con algunas charcas que agregan interés visual a las fotos, personas que parecen aún pensar en la tormenta de anoche, y por supuesto, algún que otro perro orinando en una esquina y una paloma que pasa volando como en cámara lenta... Porque, créanlo o no, este pueblo, sus calles quiero decir, parecen conspirar para que un tipo extraño como yo deambule divagando de aquí para allá, sin rumbo fijo, sin pensamientos hilvanados, sin un porqué exacto el cual pueda contar a alguien de manera convincente... Las fotografías simplemente ocurren, yo solo voy por allí observando y robando espacios, supongo... Las fotografías son apenas un anexo manifestado en torno a todo este núcleo de desapego y memorias perdidas, también lo supongo...

Obviously, the person speaking—or rather, "writing"—today is something like the "self of Tuesday, September 9, 2026," because tomorrow I might be someone else entirely, saying different things and thinking different thoughts; that is why I speak of continuous detachment and the loss of intertwined memories—as if occurring in tandem, or at least that is how it appears from here, from this vantage point of mists and rain-dampened streets, a place I frequently ascend to gaze out without any clear purpose...

Obviamente, este que habla, o que mejor dicho "escribe" hoy, es algo así como el "yo de hoy martes 09 de septiembre 2026", porque mañana puede que sea otro absolutamente distinto, que diga cosas distintas, que piense cosas distintas, por eso hablo de desapegos continuados y de pérdidas de memorias entrelazadas, como ocurriendo en tándem, o así es que se ve desde aquí, desde esta atalaya de neblinas y calles humedecidas, sobre la cual subo con frecuencia a mirar sin un objetivo cierto...
