The town confesses its long decline through the wounds of its streets... Time wounds it, the elements wound it, the indifference propped up by the impossibility of reversing the flight of its former inhabitants wounds it... The town is now a compendium of trying and trying without anything seeming to work... I am an exception to the rule of its streets' listlessness, a man determined to record the farewell to memories of better times... With the passing years, with my footsteps through the streets, with my sharp gaze enveloped in thoughts, I move discreetly so as not to disturb those who don't understand my windows of frozen images...
The town has "streets like this," but now they are almost all of them, or I would say yes, they are all of them without exception... And this is confirmed by the faded colors, the cracks in the walls, the weeds emerging from the cracks in the fragmented asphalt of the streets, the gaze of some cat that also doesn't understand what a man with a camera is doing, and, as a final touch, loneliness holding hands. of wordless sound, which is no longer even silence, but something grayer, more complex...
"What happened here?" outsiders ask when they cross the threshold that separates this town from more ordinary places... But no one answers, no one truly understands how fate here began to turn backward, or perhaps upside down... And then they look down some street filled with oblivion and devoid of joy, at a man wandering while talking to stray dogs, carrying a camera, looking at them, even daring to take their pictures without warning or permission, and then he leaves, disappears, just as all reason seems to have vanished from these strange streets...
