The Beat in my Heart

When life first beckoned to me
I was wrapped in the form of water
Basked by boundary in far away womb
Fate would decide if I would thrive or die

Mother had the option to abort me
But her choice was to let me live
I stretched her womb, made her look fat
Painfully she birthed me, Joyfully she held me tight

Her husband got jealous of her affection to me
Her eyes never departed me for safety
Instead of torture, Mother nurtured me
Today, she looks at me without regrets

I was asked who my first love is
I was asked who I love most
I was asked who has the greatest impact on me
I replied: she who gave me a heart to beat

Every daybreak reassures of my love for her
She is my first for love; the beat of my heart
My sweet Mother; My irreplaceable
Every day is a celebration ofy love for you Mother

This poem came as an inspiration to appreciate my Mother who carried me from morula through embryo, fetus, neonate, infant, toddler and adulthood.
I use this medium to appreciate mothers who never gave up on their children. I appreciate mothers who sacrificed for their children.
Every day and Every Valentine will hold my Mother zenith in the expression of love.

Thank you for reading through, I hope you enjoyed it?
