So disaster has stuck!
Ok so maybe that was a bit dramatic but after cutting and sanding the curved skirting I realised the the grain had brown streaks in it.
I could only see them in a certain light and further investigation proved that they would be unusable.
It was difficult to see any problem before when I originally chose the oak.
So I have cut my losses and will start from scratch.
These things happen, You will also see in the video that I have cut my thumb! Ironically this was with a bread knife and nothing to do with woodwork.
