In the case of Upazila cities, you rarely got airport facilities. The international airports of our country are located in the divisional cities. However, Saidpur Airport has not yet got the tag of an international airport. But the Bangladesh government's plan to establish it as an international airport, I got to know several times from the online news. Saidpur Airport was opened in 1979. Currently, only regional airports are available from this airport.

There are flights from Saidpur Airport to Dhaka, Cox's Bazar, and Chittagong divisional cities. Every day numerous flights are operated from Saidpur Airport to Dhaka or other routes. A few days ago I went to Saidpur Airport with a friend of mine. The infrastructure of the airport is quite admirable. If this airport is upgraded to international standards then it will be very easy to travel to the neighboring countries India and Nepal, for those of us living in small cities like Saidpur, Parbatipur, Dinajpur, and Rangpur.

India is very close to Saidpur. Therefore, if Saidpur has an international airport, those from North Bengal who want to travel or go to India for treatment will not have a long journey. Because everyone from North Bengal has to go to Dhaka airport to go to India. Sadpur Airport can contribute significantly to tourism, medical and commercial facilities. Saidpur Airport is a potential airport.

There are three international standard airports in Bangladesh, if Saidpur gets recognition as an international airport recognition then the number of international airports in our country will be four. And if this dream is admitted, it will be a matter of pride for the people of North Bengal. Hopefully, it will one day be recognized as an international airport.
