I visited the loco shed office located at Parbatipur, I am going to write about this loco shed today.

Many railway infrastructures are built here to maintain the railway assets and many people are employed here. Parbatipur Loco Shed is one such facility that was built to maintain diesel locomotives. Ever since the arrival of diesel engines in Bangladesh, they required maintenance, and these offices then serviced them and rectified mechanical faults to keep the locomotives running and fault-free.
I have visited the loco shed office many times. Because my friend and younger brother work here. Have entered the loco said area with them many times. It is one of the busiest offices of Bangladesh Railway. Many employees here work day and night shifts. The office is open 24 hours. So it is understood how important this office is to ensure smooth movement of trains.
This office mainly maintains various series of railway engines or locomotives. Engines are thoroughly checked here. Before connecting the engine to the passenger train, it is tested and checked on the railway routes of this office. If there is any problem with the engine, it is repaired and the engine is kept ready to pull the passenger train. If an engine is not in condition to pull a passenger train then an alternate engine is sent. Many broken-down engines are also repaired at the loco shed.
Many people work here in day and night shifts to ensure the smooth running of the engines. So the workers here have to work hard in any season, summer, monsoon, winter. Besides, if a railway accident occurs in any area near this office, relief trains and workers are sent from here to the accident site for recovery work. Numerous engines are parked throughout the loco shed office. Some of these engines are inactive and some are active. Different parts of useless engines are disassembled and fixed. There are many parts inside the engine. When the body of an engine is opened it is somewhat surprising to see the complex structure of the engine. An engine is made up of so many parts, if any one of them is damaged, the engine will not run. By visiting the loco shed and inspecting the engine work done here, you can learn something about the mechanism of an engine.
