Today I would like to talk about going wide with neutral monsters. Maybe I should have started here because you can use these cards with any other splinter. In my experience these cards are some of the most impactful neutral cards that you can pick up.
Sand Worm
As Pictured above, the Sand Worm is big. It hits hard. I love to use the Sand Worm in rulesets like reverse speed and equalizer.
Furious Chicken
The Furious Chicken fills a slot on your team for just 0 mana which comes in handy very frequently.
Creeping Ooze
The Creeping Ooze slows down all of your opponent's monsters for just 1 mana.
Battering Ram
The Battering Ram can pick off vulnerable opponents with the opportunity ability for just 2 mana.
You may have picked up on these monsters filling out valuable spots on your roster based on their mana cost. A couple of them are not available in modern, but you'll definitely want a Chicken and an Ooze if you're playing in wild. Other great neutral monsters to consider adding to your collection in no particular order include:
Goblin Mech
Peaceful Giant
Gelatinous Cube
Arkemis the Bear
Prismatic Energy
Magi of Chaos
Scavo Technomancer
Venator Kinjo
Grenadier
Spirit Hoarder
War Chaang
Halfling Alchemist
Coeurl Lurker
Chain Golem and
Dr Blight
When picking out new cards to buy or even rent, it's important to consider whether you'll be playing in modern or wild format. Some of the cards that I've mentioned are not options in the modern format. I left off most of the "ghost cards" because I expect that pretty much all of my readers will be familiar with these and almost all of them are worth playing on a fairly regular basis.
I would love to hear what some of your favorite cards are from the earth splinter and any stories about cards that seem to always beat you.
I hope this post has been helpful and informative. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the upvotes, reblogs, comments and follows. I'll see you in the game.
