Take a look at this battlefield and think about who you expect to win.

Here's the ruleset

Knowing what I had picked out and seeing my opponent's lineup I was expecting to lose based on their choice of tank if nothing else. Prismatic Energy was a great choice. I actually don't have a copy of Prismatic Energy yet but it has become fairly inexpensive and I need to get a copy.

After seeing their Prismatic energy I spotted Dr Blight and that pretty much cemented it for me when I thought about the Affliction ability nerfing my Tank Healers.

Let's talk about my lineup:

Summoner: Obsidian

Obsidian buffs all of my magic attacks. In the keep your distance ruleset I would have liked to use Bortus paired with Djinn Oshannus or at least Delwyn paired with Void Dragon but neither of those splinters were available.

Tank: Centauri Mage

I was expecting to see more magic attacks than ranged but I thought there would be a little bit of a mix. The return fire ability is fantastic for facing ranged attacks.

1st position: Suidae Shaman

With the recharge ability this has the potential to hit for 9 damage in combination with Obsidian. It also has a big enough body to take a couple of hits. 9 Damage is exactly what it deals when the Centauri mage goes down and the Shaman obliterates my opponent's Prismatic Energy in round 2.

2nd position: Queen Mycelia

This card is busted. So overpowered with the Protect ability. The Queen was another big part of my win especially thanks to the weak magic ruleset.

3rd position: Mushroom Seer

The Silence ability is also overpowered especially in a match like this where I expect to face a lot of magic. Bortus is one of my favorite summoners. The Mushroom Seer is like having Bortus on a monster.

4th position: Wood Nymph

The tank heal ability helps pretty much all of my monsters last longer.

5th position: Goblin Psychic

Another tank healer with an even bigger attack.

Did we win?

Yes. I was seriously in doubt when I saw that my opponent came prepared with Prismatic Energy.

Do I like Centauri Mage?

Yes, There were so many great magic attacks that came out of Chaos Legion that I don't pull it out very often but the Centauri mage is a great card.

What will I try differently next time?

I wish that I had a copy of Prismatic Energy and I plan to get one when I can. If I had a Prismatic Energy in my collection then I would have placed that in my tank position and moved Centauri mage back to the first position in place of Suidae Shaman. It hurts to say that after seeing how vital my Shaman was against my opponent's Prismatic Energy.

Thanks for reading and thanks for all the upvotes, reblogs, comments and follows. I'll see you in the game.
