Here's the ruleset for this week's battle

In the healed out ruleset abilities like self heal, tank heal and triage go away. The easiest way to work around this is to skip the monsters that have these abilities unless you have some other reason to use them.
While my monsters can't utilize any of these healing abilities there are other ways for monsters to gain or regain health. Martyr, life leech and bloodlust fit the bill. These are all abilities that I prioritize in the healed out ruleset.

The fog of war ruleset strips away most of the varied targeting abilities that monsters come with. This includes sneak, snipe and opportunity.
The fog of war does not take away scattershot.
I think the most important part of this to take away is that you can expect the vast majority of damage to come straight at your tank. It's also important to remember that melee attackers on your back line that would normally come with sneak or opportunity will not be able to attack until every monster in front of them goes down.
In fog of war I tend to prioritize things that will keep my tank alive. First among options for this are things like self healing and tank healing monsters. Those options are out because of the other ruleset, but repair can still play a role.

I'm expecting to see magic play a role in this match especially with the life leech options in the death splinter and to a lesser extent the earth splinter. Kelya remains a popular option for pretty much all occasions and Runemancer Kye could be amazing here (especially behind a martyr).

My opponent's use of Weirding Warrior here is beautiful, it's an oft forgotten monster. I am frequently impressed with the shatter ability being more powerful than expected. This is one example, but it's awesome on Immortalis and War Pegasus too.

Let's talk about my lineup

Summoner: Possibilus the Wise

Possibilus gives my melee monsters reach and trample. All of my monsters gain 2 health. I was hoping to surprise my opponent with big melee attacks since They can't attack from the back line in fog of war (except the reach position).

Tank: Venari Marksrat

The Marksrat is here for the Martyr ability. I don't get to heal my Coastal Sentry, but I can make it bigger.

1st position: Coastal Sentry

Coastal Sentry and Possibilus the Wise are a match made in heaven. Coastal Sentry doesn't have any of the tools to stay alive as a tank, but thanks to Possibilus, the Sentry is able to attack from this position. I know that Venari Marksrat will go down quickly here and I'm counting on Coastal Sentry to make quick work of my opponent's other monsters with this mana cap.

2nd position: Torrent Fiend

Torrent Fiend costs 0 mana and has the potential to pitch in behind Possibilus once the Marksrat goes down.

Did we win?

Yes. Big surprise there right, I usually pick a win, but my opponent did bring their A game and had an excellent lineup.

What will I try differently next time?

After discussing this match I would love to see what a Runemancer Kye could do in a lineup like this. First I'll have to get one. I'm planning to level up some other cards before I get a copy of Kye though.

Thanks for reading and thanks for all the upvotes, reblogs, comments and follows. I'll see you in the game. I hope the updated format that I'm using is helpful. Feel free to share any specific feedback in the comments.
