If I'm keeping track correctly, today is the last Friday of June and the last June Friday of 2022. I know it may sound silly, but I like to give regular days of the week some meaning, because I treasure each day; I wake up to one.
Sometimes when I take a photo of a cloud, it's usually; because it actually outshines everything below it. I'm not a photographer by any means, but nature photos have unique meaning to me. The photo for this post was in my iPhone10 camera and it was from the mini-trip before last at Port Charlotte, Florida. If I remember correctly, it was the view right off our hotel window.
The summer is in full swing and although living in Florida feels like summer most of the year, growing up in New York; summer was always a huge deal for us. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York and hanging out on the sweltering concrete jungle, although it was a bit uncomfortable; there was nothing like a summer in New York. At least, for someone who was born and raised there. I'm sure I can find hundreds if not thousands of hardcore New Yorkers, who would agree with me.
Granted, these days; I wouldn't even want to visit New York in the summer.
I'm one of those very rare individuals, that is of Latin descent and is not enamored with anything over 80 degree weather. Worst case 85 degrees. 90 plus is way too fricking hot.
The outrageous thing about all this, is that I ended up moving to Central Florida (which is hot as heck) and plan to retire in Sarasota. You would think, I would want to retire where there are four seasons.
Well, I love the idea of living in a beach town one day; so what better place than Florida to live in one. Currently, I don't have that luxury of living in a beach town here in Central Florida; because I'm in the tourist vacuum of Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World and on and on an on.
I ended up here, because of situational occurrences; it most definitely wasn't a dire goal to move here when I did.
As I've gotten older, the prospects of living in a beach town during a handful of mini-vacations with Tiffany; I've come to appreciate that option and wanting to take the opportunity to do just that; when we are ready to retire. Hoping to move the needle a bit on that one, if all goes right.
