It’s the start of a new month and another brand new week, Hive Ghana has organized another amazing contest asking as to share our favorite DApp. You can visit HERE to see the details. Hive has been blessed with so many dApps some of them inclde Ecency, Peakd, Waivio, and more. Out of these bunch, my favorite is ecency. Even though i like to use peakd hand in hand with ecency. I like Ecency more or let me say i use Ecency more.
Let me take you through a quick background about Ecency Dapp, Esteem as it was previously known in 2016, was founded by Feruz Muradov with the sole aim of creating a mobile application that will revolutionize users interraction, our engagement, and many more. In time Esteem grew into Ecency with the same vision to reward content creators, also being a decentralized platform where you control your own account without any limits.
Now lets look at some of its features that make me absolutely adore this dApp. Hive is all about blogging and engagement, engagement in the form of commenting, rebloging, and Voting. What if i told you that ecency rewards you for doing all these things. Yes!! They do, on every single blog you create you earn as much as 15~10 ecency points. And every comment you make you get as much as 5~4 ecency points and for voting you get 1~0.4 point. These points can be redeemed to actual votes on hive. For every 150 ecency points, you get $1 upvote from ecency 300 points you get $2 in that order.
These points can be used not only on your post, but you can also use them to boost a friends post or reward any content you think is good enough but hase been curated. With this wonderful feature of ecency, even if we dont get regular upvotes we can be self sufficient and thats what i love most about this dApp.
With Ecency you dont have to miss a thing. You get notified about all the activities happening on your account whiles you are away or doing something you don’t have to constantly keep checking your account to see if someone replied your comment or if you have been upvoted or not. Ecency will notify you and always keep you updated. You can also add your favorite bloggers to your favorite list so that when ever they create a new blog, you will be the first to read it. I love using this feature.
Having a busy week or day? No problem you can use the Schedule feature on Ecency to schedule a post to be posted at anytime of your choosing. An example is this post i wrote it this morning and scheduled it to be posted this night :) this feature comes in handy when i want to post at an odd time of the day.
Well thats all for now. There are quite some interesting features i haven’t talked about which i think are also great. But my general words are, Ecency is an amazing dApp and i hope that everyone tries and make use of it. Especially the point rewarding system.
