Hi guys, I know, log time not posting, I had a new cryptovoxels parcel to build for an Italian collector an yes, this whole new thing of being a voxel architect is tasting great, but this post is not about that.
I've had sometime to think about this new occupation I found thank to my blockchain folks and I found out I'm enjoying voxel design mainly because I'm a 3D designer, and that's the point.
So i decided that my next 3D design projects will have one thing in common, the will help me build my very own low poly models library and share that with you.
I won't bother you again with my final works, instead, you guys are gonna be an important part of my creative process.
Here I'll share the sources of inspiration and the raw 3D models I'll use for my finished projects and works, and this post is actually the first step in that direction.
The Story
Recently I found out that high detail rendering stresses my computer a lot, that's why i used a render farm and will be using the render token network to render the next high detail rendering for my works.
But I also learned to work without high detail kitbash models, which i used a lot once, thanks to the Grant Abbitt tutorials on youtube i learned to paint over the texture of the low poly models and I'm now able to deliver beautiful 3D illustrations for my videos without relying to heavy kitbashing models full of details that aren't really needed for the kind of production I do.
And as you can see in his youtube channel there's a lot you can do adding just a little creativity to the workflow!
3D illustration
But there's even more, some people have already walked through this path of 3D illustration and I'm following their steps, slowly building up a library of low poly models built with a workflow I'll be describing in more depth in the next posts, by now I just wanna share this first work, wich I was finally able to render with cycles, a very realistic render engine that works in blender>
The tutorial I followed to create the image is here, by polygon runway.
If you wanna understand better the rendering tricks i used to get the light effects you see on the final render be sure to check my telegram channel for blender tips.
