Hello! 🥳

I was thinking of experimenting with digital art and the real world, combining them in one frame. This experiment reminds me of the band Gorillaz. You can check them here.

This is a picture I took while I was in a moving car. The blurry effects make the picture interesting. Gen Z likes blurring filters. 😆

This is just a random Asian store. This is gonna be my character's background. It forces me to make a character out of a picture.

Sketch time! I was thinking of a girl wearing an over sized pink jacket. Originally, I was going for a denim jacket, but I think the color pink fits well with the background colors.

Those three stripes are very recognizable, huh. 😁 Simple design like this also helps with the shape of the clothing. Human eyes can trick us. 😁 I chose a subtle pink color and then maroon for the inner clothing. I added some hoop earring for detail. I did the facial features first especially the eyes to set the mood. Added some shadowing and blush for the face and neck.

One thing that I am practicing right now aside from anatomy is the clothing. Clothing is super hard to master especially the foldings. A good set of mood board references can aid the concept. I myself can't create a nice picture of clothing in my head. My go-to references are from Pinterest, but if I want to be more specific, I search on Google. Here is my reference for this art.

Final art

Have you tried going to a store in the middle of the night just because you craved for sweets? 😆 I sometimes do this and just grab some hoodie or jacket and whatever slippers I can wear. hahaha 😆This scenario just popped randomly into my head. Anyways~

This is the final art. I blurred out the background to emphasize the depth. On top of the base layer, I added a layer in multiply mode to blend with the overall mood. I clipped an add glow layer for the reflecting lights.

Finished art!! 🥰 I enjoyed doing this art.

Thanks for reading~ 💖
