So, I got nothing to do today except sleeping and snack. I feel like mentally drained the whole week. Probably because I am blogging daily now just to get that damn monthly author badge, haha!
So, today's sketch is just simple. I woke up from an afternoon nap, opened my laptop, and just drew whatever came to my mind. I was thinking of a red-eyed character in a suit and roses. Probably because of the recent Valentine's day, that is why I came up with this.
Sketch and Concept
Okay, let's not put some complicated pose or hand gesture because it is the weekend. 😆 Forgive me, but I promise I will deliver the art style that I am learning right now. I am liking the anime and manhwa style lately. More and more practice to come.

So, the sketch part for me is just a guide and not totally to be followed on the lineart process. So like I said, a guy in a suit, and then a light source coming from the upper right corner. So I will just make his bangs super long on his left side, covering the eye. I like the mysterious-ish whenever a character has red eyes, haha.
In the second picture, I accidentally colored the hair in the same layer, arrrgghhh. Probably still sleepy from my afternoon nap.
I used g-pen for both sketch and lineart.
Flat color and Shadowing
I chose a brownish-red color for the background, mimicking an old rose color. Later, I will add some designs for the background. I chose a neutral brown color for the hair, but typing this I feel like I should have chosen a grayish color, aghh~ sayang! (too late!)
I put a little cross earring, well, not that noticeable. I like a little spikey spikey hair, it just makes the flow of the hair natural.
For the shading, I chose colors on the color wheel below the base color. I shaded the parts that are not covered by the light source.
UwU red eyes are smexy~
I put darker brown under the eyes, neck, and nape. It was so hard to choose the perfect neutral pink for the lips. I had to find a faint pink color because too much saturation makes it off (in my opinion).
In the background, I already airbrush the light source-- a faint yellow. And then, I downloaded a rose brush from Clip Studio Asset. I am not a rose expert artist, haha! No choice but to find a brush. Life is easier that way.
Final Art
I can't help but to cut the eyebrows for guy characters, haha! You will notice it in my drawings. I added another later on top of everything to make the light source. I used the airbrush for a soft effect of light. I then put the layer on Add Glow filter. I put the light on the hair, eyes, cheeks, lips, and on clothing.
For the final touch-up, I used the liquify tool to fix the eyes, eyebrows, and chin. I then blur the character a bit just to have that soft touch, except for the eyes.
