Hey! It has been a while since I posted in this community. 😁 It was been busy days and still am not in a comfy place to draw, hehe. But still, I managed to find a spot to take out my drawing tablet and doodle away. So happy to see a new Holozing creature, and hell yeah, a dragon! 🐉 Of all the dragon types, my favorite is the grass type. 🍃 I like the color combination of the green and pink. So I made a little fan art to celebrate the new additions to the mix. 😁
Art Process
I want to present a happy vibe for my first fanart of the dragons, so I want a smiling baby dragon to pose. I started making the sketch by using a different color of brush. On the background would be plants and flowers to match the type of the dragon. I then used a solid brush for the lineart. I used a thinner size of brush for the inner lines in contrast to the thicker lines in the out line.
Next, I applied the base colors in different layers. I blurred out the colors that touched each other to make it seamless. On top of the base layers are the shadows in multiply mode. The color was a dark blue and I just lowered the opacity. Same goes to the pink membrane on the ears, forehead, and tail.
I worked on the highlights of the eyes and the cheeks to make the face more expressive. I used an airbrush for the cheeks and a flat brush for the highlights. I made the shadows darker for the lower part of the depths.
Final Art
I used an outlined pen for most of the elements of the background. I drew some leaves, flowers, and butterflies. I chose colors that complement the green dragon. Lastly, I added a texture to the canvas.
