Okay, so I have been making chibis, or should I say posting? Whatever the case is, this blog will be a different art style. Sometimes I get fed up with chibis, lol. I am not saying that I am over with chibis, of course not! They are my babies UwU.

It is nice to get out of my comfort zone once in a while. Sticking in on art style somehow bores me and lately, I have been craving something different.

Anyway~ Up until this day I still do not know what art style should I stick to. I am still in the process of exploring and discovering different options. Right now, I am liking the semi-realism style with a hint of anime. In my free time, I watch the timelapse of painting on YouTube and Tiktok. I really like the shading of the semi-realism style. On the other hand, I like the anime style too. So, somehow I want to combine them, hihi.

In this blog, I will take you through my art style process of what art style I like to pursue. It has been a while since I posted a not-chibi art blog. :D
So without further ado, let's start!

Sketch~

Let's start with the sketch. Ahh~ thank God for Pinterest and Google! These sites helped me a lot with my drawing process. You can just literally find poses you want by just typing them away. So for this sketch, I just want a simple pose. Most of the time, I chose a portrait that is bust and up. And then, I just typed "portrait pose female".

And then, pictures of different poses will pop up. What I chose is this, a female resting her face in her palm. I roughly copy the pose. It is a little undetailed right now, haha~

Choosing the Colors

The theme of this art is "bit" dark. I noticed that most peeps are into dark fantasy-themed art (IDK). I am not really good in conceptualizing or designing dark art, but no harm in trying, right?

In this character, I chose red as her hair color. For the clothing, I chose a simple black dress with white puff sleeves. The tool that I used for the coloring is a flat brush that I customized. For the hair, I downloaded a flat, dry brush. The shading is also a flat brush with a lower opacity.

The details~

At this process, I already added the background to feel the vibe UwU. I chose the blood stain and some lines. The lines are kind of those in the manga. I downloaded those in Clip Studio. It is so much easier than drawing it manually.

The big additions are the eyes, shading on the hair and clothing. It is important to know the source of light so that I know where to put my highlights.

Final Art

I did a little tweaking here and there, and taaaadaa~ She is ready! <3 I was thinking what could be the name of this art hmmm, Blood Rose is nice. Blood roses have this shade of red kind of almost black. Since her hair is as red as blood and her stare is pricking like thorns. :D

This art, I did not finish it in one sitting. Whenever I have the time or in the mood to doodle, I try to finish this art. I think I started two weeks ago. I just finished it today. I am happy that I already finish this and I can move on to the next art.

Software: Clip Studio Paint Pro
