Japan certainly has some crazy expensive fruit. I believe it's partly due to limited supply while the rest is due to the high quality.
For easy conversion, 100 yen is roughly 1 USD. You're looking at 75-85 dollar boxes of fruit! And they're not packed either. You can bet that these are some of the sweetest fruit on the planet though.
