There鈥檚 something about starting the day on the right foot that isn鈥檛 talked about enough. I feel that the level of productivity we would have at the end of the day or generally how your day turns out, your mood and all of that, depends to a great degree on how you begin your day.

I had a moment of reflection towards the end of last year where I recalled how productive some of my days were and then I remembered how the other days when I felt like I hadn鈥檛 accomplished anything were as well. And I remembered that most of how those days turned out was because of how my mornings began.

So, even before the beginning of this year, I mapped out how I wanted my day to be. Yeah, I gave room for spontaneity and anything unplanned that may happen. But mostly since the year began, my days have been going practically just the way I want it and that鈥檚 because I brought back working out daily.

Many people may realize this already but I experienced on a personal level the benefits of starting the day with working out and meditations. It鈥檚 not just about keeping fit and having the body you desire, but the mental advantages are out of this world. I remember last year how each day I woke up early in the morning, let鈥檚 say 5.30 am, and worked out, it almost always felt like I could do anything I wanted. Take the world by storm and all of that.

The energy just feels right. I spoke to my best friend about it and we drafted out plans. I needed an accountability partner because even the most carefully laid out plans may fall if you don鈥檛 have someone you鈥檙e accountable to. It helped that she鈥檇 also been having the same line of thought and I was so it was easier to bring the plan to fruition.

This year, while I was thinking in the line of active work out, she decided to venture more into yoga. Each day, we document how we go about our morning routine and how amazing we feel afterwards. For me, it is the mental liberation I feel every morning, plus the knowledge that I'm fit and looking good. For her, it鈥檚 the general wellness of her body and mind and how flexible she鈥檚 gotten.

More than anything, I like the peace I鈥檓 beginning to achieve. My life could get chaotic sometimes and more than anything, my mind could be in a frenzy at certain points. Doing this routine every morning places me in an all-day mindful state. My thoughts are more coherent and there鈥檚 no clash in the number of things whirling in my head. From school to work, relationships and Hive, there鈥檚 this tendency I have to panic because it feels like I鈥檓 going through too many things at once.

I won鈥檛 say that it鈥檚 been an immediate happening and I don鈥檛 worry anymore about things, but now there鈥檚 more calmness even in times were I鈥檓 worried. Maybe it鈥檚 because I just chose that this year will be filled with peace for me, but I know it鈥檚 also because of my new mindful routine and how much fun I鈥檓 having with it. So, I thought to share it with #mindfulmonday today. I wish us more moments of peace and clarity in the coming months.
