The uniqueness of the beetle is in its life cycle. Beetles undergo complete metamorphosis because their life cycle starts from eggs, becomes larvae, larvae become pupae and eventually develop into adult beetles. Before becoming an adult beetle, beetles experience several cycles first. Even during the cycle process, beetles that lay eggs on sago trees will form larvae commonly known as sago caterpillars. This sago caterpillar lives on sago trees and is usually taken for consumption by the surrounding community.
