Having your own garden and being able to plant something in it is really fun. If you didn't know it then you should really try it for yourself. You can learn a lot of lessons while you till the land where you will plant the seeds of your vegetables and fruits.
Being grateful and patience are some of the lessons I learned. I patiently tilling and planting the seeds and at the end I'm grateful for I have something to harvest and eat.
Today I harvested two sets of fruits from my bananas. Everytime I did this, so much joy is overflowing inside of me and it's making me to smile the whole process of harvesting it. I can really say that all of my hardwork from making a hole, planting it and taking care of it until it bears a fruit pays off for good.
The farmers who do the planting in our farm noticed it the other day when I saw them along the road of irrigation here and they said that my banana is already ready to harvest. So without further a do I get my bolo and did it this morning before lunch.
I'm not able to visit it lately since I'm busy cutting some firewoods because we're out of it again already. It's my luck since the sun was really burning this day so I sundried it. It's really an advantage when you're kind to the people in your place, they can tell you something for your own good just like that before something will happen to the bananas.
After harvesting it, I took the opportunity also to clean up the dried leaves of my bananas and put them around their stems that will act as mulching. Doing this one will prevent the soil around them to not dry that much and the moisture will retain.
So this is the one that I harvested and since I got the chance to checked on them, I checked also the other area where my banana is.
When I checked on my string before, the banana that has fruit already bowed down since it's stem is deteriorating already so I put a pole to to support it. But when I check it today, I noticed that it's fruits are already withering that's why I decided to get it already before there nothing left in it that can be eat.
This kind of thing is rarely happening to my bananas and it's the first time again this year that it's stem deteriorate. I don't like to think that some chemical was put into it's stem that's why it happened but my gut is telling me lol. A person that I personally knows is doing that kind of thing to our plants before so it can happen also now even if we settled the problem in our barangay before. huhu If he did that then for sure karma will be into him.
I will observe the other bananas beside it since they have fruits develeloping already and the other one is it's heart already came out. If there will be no problem with them then I can conclude that what happened is normal. Well I really hope that there nothing because it's really a loss if the bananas is fully matured before harvesting it.
Well it's not that really bad to harvest them just like the the one above but I really felt bad about it.
As for the other plants in my garden, my ladies' finger are already big and became matured that's why I decided not to get them anymore because their seeds will be use to plant another set of it when they are ready.
This day is really a blessing for us because I got to harvest those bananas. I will sell some of the bananas from the matured one while the the last one will be ours to consume. In my estimate it's 30 pesos per kilo with this kind of banana here. I hope that they will buy it hihi.
For the mean time I put it in a sack with madre cacao leaves as a ripening agent. In two to three days for sure they will be ripe already.
And that's how half of my day went and I encourage you to grow your own foods friends for you to save up some money and and for your safety also.
So what are you waiting for, think of something to plant in your homes and let those green thumbs do the work. Well it doesn't need a green thumb for a seed to grow, what it need is to be planted in a soil in order for it's roots to sprout and grow.
