This day has been great again my fellow gardeners and hivers. I hope your day went well too so far.
It's in my agenda as a gardene to plant different plants in my garden and so far I've planted a lot already wherin I've harvested some of their fruits and made a dish out of them. I've been thankful for all the harvest that I did last time and today I set out once again in the field to dig the soil and plant a new one.
Since string beans has been grown in my first try to plant something in the first after the passing of my grandpa, this time I will try to grow Mung Beans or Monggo in filipino or wildly knows as green beans in Asia. It's been used in a lot of recipes that are know here.
This kind of bean has been part since my childhood and ir's one of the main ingredients is our viand before, until now. I can rate this one as delicious when cook especially if partnered with some leaves of Malunggay or Horseradish. If you hadn't tried it then I suggest that you must but still it depends on your taste and like.
In order to make sure that the mung bean will grow successfully, I incubated it inside a plastic container for it to grow roots and start the process.
As you can see in the photo, the seeds has grown roots successfully and I'm really happy about it. Actually it just happened overnight. Truly amazing and this is one of the seeds that's germinated overnight.
I went this afternoon together with my cousin after her school and I really thought that the sun has finally set already but I was wrong hihi. It's just hiding behind the clouds.
As you can see in the photo that the sun was still burning and I didn't bring my wooven hat already so the sun rays was directly hitting me making me to sweat a lot. Despite that I still continued to clean the area for me to be able to plant the seeds.
Soon as I finished cleaning the area, I immediately planted the seeds. I put 3 seeds per hole to ensure that they are not that cramp when they grow big.
And while I'm doing it, my cousin took a photo and I didn't know about this one as you can see in the photo that it's just my back. She took a selfie and I'm just happy to see her enjoying the the things I'm engaging to like gardening. She's engaging in this now and she planted a lot already here in our house despite her age which is 8.
After cleaning the area and planting those seeds, finally I finished it and here it is.
While I'm taking that one I noticed that my cousin took the bolo and doing some clean up beside the rice plants so I took a stolen hihi.
Also after doing that we visited the are where we got the organic soil and I've been surprised that the area has been planted by tomatoes and sponge gourd or what we called patola in filipino.
My father is also present in the rice field so I asked him and he said that my mother was the one who planted them. She did that in order to prevent the bad guys who's stealing our organic soil.
Here's the area now.
As you can see it's now full of tomatoes and they grew already after they've been transplanted. You can see also that there are banana parts above them and those served as their protection from the burning rays of the sun.
The sponge gourd grew well already and in a few days this one will need a pole to climb already so I will see some bamboo parts to be use just like the one that I did with my bitter gourds.
This day has ended with a great view as we go home.
And that's my garden journal for this wednesday my fellow gardeners.
Before I end this one I just want to say...
-Plant, plant and you'll survive.
