Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners.
I choose the gold foil modern brawl and I got 4 wins and 2 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 1,500 merits and 15.41 SPS in the 2 star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls.
There were 3 fights that I won, 2 that I lost, and 1 that did not submit their match. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match but I thought this match would be troublesome due to his bloodlust monster. This ended up not being an issue at all due to the repair ability. I didn't lose any cards and the repair managed to take out most of the damaging attacks.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match and it was kind of rough despite me using almost all flying monsters. It just looks like I wasn't able to deal enough damage and I couldn't really out damage my opponent.
You can find the third match here. I won this match and the bloodlust was amazing on my side. My opponent couldn't kill off my tank and I kept killing off a few monsters a round.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match and it was a rough match. The taunt monster soaked up most of my damage and I wasn't able to do much as my opponent removed my cards one by one.
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match and I went into more detail in this post. Basically, I won because I didn't use many magic monsters despite using that summoner. Having a flying monster as the tank on the first and last spot was a great thing.
I think doing 6 fights for 1,500 merits and 15.41 SPS as a pretty good reward for the effort. My performance in the brawls isn't that bad either as I won over half of my matches. The SPS rewards are up this time around and the merits was the same as my previous brawl. I think brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merits for the amount of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the two star category.
