Remember the recall not long after release for the Nintendo Switch left joy-con issue, that undoubtedly caused havoc in living rooms worldwide over the past months?
The one when you'd be halfway through navigating a shrine in BOTW and suddenly Link randomly runs the opposite direction off a cliff and you tumble to your death.
Or when you're mid-battle with a Guardian Stalker and you realise you can't move at all...well my friend, you are dead already.
Enter Nintendo...
See Nintendo's statement here.
As they state, there is no issue with the hardware, and that interference is the issue. Apparently a small piece of conductive foam put in the right place inside the controller will fix the issue.
If you'd rather not send your beloved switch controller back to nintendo, leaving you Switch-less for god knows how long, you can undertake the repair yourself!

I did it and it worked!
I got my conductive foam from here - Maplin UK
I then just went for it and took apart my left joycon as carefully as possible, cut a small square and placed it in the location shown in the picture above. After putting it back together everything was perfect. I can now play Zelda sat on my couch on the other side of the room! The range increased significantly! And it only took about 15mins. So it's well worth it if you don't mind voiding the warranty
