Your feelings are beautiful and completely normal when you love our country and our people so deeply. This affects—and will continue to affect—us all in the long run. I experienced it intensely here in Caracas, feeling great fear, even though we weren't at the earthquake's epicenter. Soil conditions in the capital and La Guaira made the disaster worse here, yet I’m still surprised by how strongly it was felt in Monagas State and other seemingly remote areas—places that, to nature, are simply part of the same landscape. All I can suggest is prayer, family unity, and—if you’re able—helping those most affected; these things help calm us and make us feel useful amidst adversity. Tus sentimientos son hermosos y totalmente normales cuando se ama tanto a nuestro país y a nuestra gente. Esto nos afecta y nos afectará a todos a largo plazo. Yo sí lo viví fuertemente aquí en Caracas, con mucho temor, y a la vez ni siquiera fue el epicentro del sismo. Algo del suelo de la capital y de La Guaira hizo que el desastre sea peor por acá, y aún así me sorprende que se haya sentido tan fuerte en el Estado Monagas y otros lugares que parecen remotos, pero que para la naturaleza parece ser una extensión normal. Solo te puedo recomendar oración, unión familiar y si está en tus manos colaboración con los más afectados, todo esto ayuda a calmarnos y sentirnos útiles en medio de la adversidad.
