Muy cansados, pero felices... El 50 aniversario del Sistema de Orquestas y Coros se celebró con mucha música y unión entre artistas venezolanos. Nos apoderamos del Teatro Teresa Carreño casi toda la semana y se realizaron dos conciertos de ensueño, con una duración de cuatro horas el más corto de ellos. Cantamos música del Maestro Abreu, Handel, Mozart, Antonio Estevez, Mahler y el último movimiento de la novena sinfonía de Beethoven, y aunque lo que sobraban era Sopranos en la Sala Ríos Reyna, mi esposa fue la elegida para el Beethoven.
Very tired, but happy... The 50th anniversary of the Orchestras and Choirs System was celebrated with a lot of music and union among Venezuelan artists. We took over the Teresa Carreño Theater for almost the whole week and two dream concerts were performed, the shorter one lasting four hours. We sang music by Maestro Abreu, Handel, Mozart, Antonio Estevez, Mahler and the last movement of Beethoven's ninth symphony, and although there were plenty of Sopranos in the Rios Reyna Hall, my wife was the one chosen for the Beethoven.
Ya perdí la cuenta de cuantas veces mi esposa ha cantado este Beethoven, entre mucho otro repertorio para Soprano, pero siempre he tenido presente que uno de sus grandes sueños era cantar en la Sala Ríos Reyna, posiblemente la más importante del país, y desde que nos enteramos que una amiga y ella serían las dos elegidas la alegría iluminó nuestro hogar, más de lo que ya está iluminado por naturaleza. No solo es la emoción colectiva de todos los músicos orgullosos, sino nuestro logro personal, porque hace 10 años solo era un sueño, y ahora somos protagonistas.
I have lost count of how many times my wife has sung this Beethoven, among much other repertoire for Soprano, but I have always kept in mind that one of her great dreams was to sing in the Rios Reyna Hall, possibly the most important in the country, and since we found out that a friend and she would be the two chosen, joy lit up our home, more than what is already lit by nature. It is not only the collective emotion of all the proud musicians, but our personal achievement, because 10 years ago it was just a dream, and now we are protagonists.
Les confieso que esta última semana he olvidado un poco a Hive, y eso es raro, pero las emociones que vivimos en Caracas fueron muy fuertes y ameritaban de días completos de ensayo y participación en eventos. Estoy orgulloso del trabajo que hicimos, tanto la orquesta como el gran coro nacional, conformado por cantantes de varias zonas de Venezuela. Mi mejor amigo fue el barítono del Mozart, y cantó junto a músicos de gran trayectoria en Venezuela, y en general, la gente del mi natal Maracay triunfó en este concierto aniversario, pura gente que crecimos juntos cantando en el coro de iniciación hace más de 15 años ya.
I confess that this last week I have forgotten Hive a little, and that is strange, but the emotions we lived in Caracas were very strong and deserved full days of rehearsal and participation in events. I am proud of the work we did, both the orchestra and the great national choir, made up of singers from various parts of Venezuela. My best friend was the baritone of the Mozart, and sang along with musicians of great trajectory in Venezuela, and in general, the people from my native Maracay triumphed in this anniversary concert, pure people that we grew up together singing in the initiation choir more than 15 years ago.
El trabajo no para, hace unos minutos me informaron que seré parte de los pocos elegidos para cantar en el concierto de Andrea Bocelli de este fin de semana, pensé que todos estaríamos por naturaleza, pero no amerita tantas personas, así que es algo más para sentirme en gratitud con Dios, con mi trabajo y con la vida. Creo que todo el año será muy interesante y lleno de actividades, pero vale la pena, después de todo tenemos años persiguiendo estas metas, trabajando, estudiando y dejando toda una vida atrás cuando nos fuimos a la capital... Bendigo la música, bendigo mi trabajo, bendigo a mi esposa, bendigo a mi familia y estoy en total gratitud. Dios tiene un momento para todo, y quienes me conocen saben cuantos altibajos hemos enfrentado mi chica y yo. Abracemos lo bueno y lo malo, que todo pasa por algo.
The work does not stop, a few minutes ago I was informed that I will be part of the few chosen to sing at the concert of Andrea Bocelli this weekend, I thought we all would be by nature, but it does not merit so many people, so it is something more to feel gratitude to God, my work and life. I think the whole year will be very interesting and full of activities, but it is worth it, after all we have years chasing these goals, working, studying and leaving a whole life behind when we went to the capital.... I bless music, I bless my work, I bless my wife, I bless my family and I am in total gratitude. God has a time for everything, and those who know me know how many ups and downs my girl and I have faced. Let's embrace the good and the bad, everything happens for a reason.
