In life it will be inevitable that on many occasions you will encounter toxic people who will try to take advantage of you, manipulate you or hinder your path. In general, they do not develop empathy towards others and only seek their own benefit no matter what they have to do, but there are also occasions (hard to believe) in which people act in a toxic way and do not even recognize it.

There are general characteristics shared by toxic people such as selfishness, arrogance, intolerance, lies and aggressiveness, but there are also others that are a little more concrete than if you were to identify, there is no doubt that you are facing a person with the that you do not want to connect. Here the clues:

  • They will make you feel guilty about everything. No matter what you do, in their eyes it will be badly done and they will tell you, causing insecurity and feelings of guilt, especially when nothing you do directly benefits them.

  • They will isolate you from your friends. They will always want to monopolize your attention, to the point where you will begin to frequent less your friends or close people. Toxic people impose their presence and demand that you devote all your time and energy.

  • They will magnify their problems. They will always have the perspective that their problems are bigger and more important than those of others and that is why they need all the attention. His vision of reality tends to be unbalanced against him.

  • They will not be responsible for their actions. When they are wrong, toxic people do not recognize it and immediately seek to hold others accountable. Or on the contrary, they will believe that they are never wrong and that if things go wrong it is because "that's the way it had to be", even though they were responsible for ruining them.

  • They will be victimized. And finally, connected to the two previous points: if something goes wrong or something is wrong, they will feel that the fault lies with the world that conspires against them. Victimizing and exposing oneself as vulnerable is a way of seeking empathy from others, and then using it in their favor.

If you have someone close with these attitudes, we regret to say that he is probably a very toxic person for you and the best thing you could do is to get away, for your own tranquility and stability.
