People often tell singles to get married to their friends because true love, they say, begins with friendship. I believe that getting married to your friend does not automatically mean you won't face challenges in your relationship or marriage. As a couple, you both want to be strong enough to withstand the test of time and be able to come out stronger.

Many marriages I have seen have an imbalance of power. Whenever I think about it, I try to understand why men want to be in control and exert excessive, unhealthy power over a woman. I wonder why men still struggle to hold the position that they already possess since God created them to be heads of the household and the head of the family. Please excuse me if I don't make sense.
Since this week's dreemport challenge is all about love, I am going to briefly talk about this couple I admire a lot.
I miss them terribly. Earlier this year, the family relocated to the UK, so we have only been communicating online ever since, but it is a different experience when we are physically in touch. The couple has two kids, a boy and a girl, with the boy being their first child. I met them through the church I attend, and I became closer to them after joining the choir.
When I was still actively into hairstyling, she would always call me to come do her hair and her daughter's hair. I admire her husband so much because he understands what it means to be a man, a father, and a husband.
Whenever I am doing her hair and her kids complain of hunger, he prepares a nice dish for them. On many Saturdays, I have visited their house and found her husband working on laundry. If other men were in the position, they would make it seem like helping their wife with house chores was taboo. Also, whenever he bought something new for himself, he always bought the same thing for her.
We once had couples meeting, and the wife briefly explained how they resolved conflict in their home. She told the audience that they communicate with understanding when there is a problem rather than getting angry at each other. I believe that it is not advisable to compare your partner to others, but you can introduce good ideas you have seen from other people's relationships into your own.
Despite the fact that what works for A may not work for B, there are still certain things that work for all relationships, such as understanding, support, and caring. These are things I admire about that couple. As a result of trust and mutual respect, they were able to work and grow together. I believe that these qualities are essential for any successful relationship. It's important to remember that it's all about compromise and communication. With these two elements, any couple can thrive.
Today, they are out of the country. They've relocated to the UK, and I pray that the love they share continues to blossom forever.
