I want to specially thank everyone here for the birthday wishes on my birthday yesterday. It made my day, to be honest.
I was saying that I've never felt so emotional on my birthday before, so far as I can recollect, this year's birthday appears to be the best. There was no festivity, cake, or any major thing from my end but the many birthday messages from my friends and family made me happy that I wanted to cry. A few called to wish me a happy birthday via phone call and I was feeling shy to speak hehe, can you imagine me? 馃槅
God also provided me with a birthday present, he made a way for me. I remember in May, I was worried about July. My stay in the shelter expired on the 5th of July and I knew that I had to get accommodation soon.
Yes, I had begun working, and I was thankful to God for helping me get the job. In my mind, I had thought that I would save up some money out of my salary so that I would be able to pay for the rent of an apartment in July, and God did it.
Looking at it now, I see that God prepared the Job for me so that I would be busy during the three months of my stay at the shelter and won't be idle and so that I would have some money saved to have something put in place after the house has been rented.
Originally, all my thinking was that the money I would be saving would be for the rent of the house. Now that I think about it, even though I had continued working from now till the end of the year, I probably may not have been able to save up to the amount that is needed to rent the house.
But I continued with my savings and committed everything to God. I told God to help me get accommodation before my birthday.
During that same period, my counselor informed me of an empowerment program and a grant that was on and organized by the government. I applied for it in May and to cut the long story short, it all happened in July before my birthday.
Funny enough, I applied for a shop space at first because I thought that it would be good to do business by putting my skills to use, however, along the line, I changed my mind because of the options that were given and I had to think again and saw that what I needed urgently was an accommodation, I thought about the fact that I could always get a shop space and equipment for business, so I had to switch from business startup to accommodation.
Yes, long story short, I was greatly assisted by the government and this is something that rarely happens in my country. The truth is, opportunities like this usually come up and people apply for them but never get any response until it is forgotten.
God saw my heart and decided to be compassionate and merciful towards me that he granted the wish of accommodation before my birthday.
I haven't moved in yet but the house has been cleaned and painted, and the curtains fixed, although I don't have a bed yet, however, it can be sorted out later in the future.
An impromptu thing came up with the living room of the house. The landlord asked us to hold on so he can tile the parlor before we move in.
Yes, the parlor wasn't tiled, I still see this impromptu thing as God's doing because planning to get any type of carpet would have meant more expenditure for us for a very wide parlor.
Right now, we are waiting for the living room to be tiled and we would move in on Saturday or Sunday. I'm just grateful that this much has been sorted out.
Within these past three months, I've been able to realize that God is always on the side of his own so long we do not distance ourselves from him and even when we are busy making plans for ourselves, God always has the best plans and we ought to be conscious to his will.
God knows our needs but just as it is written in Matthew 7:7, we should still ask in in prayers, trust him and have faith in him.
