"Alien in my dining room (sorry, no pics)"

I just stepped into my dining area on my way to the fridge for some milk, when something moving on the carpet in front of me caught my eye.

I'm not wearing my glasses, which means my eyes are a little over 5 ft about this thing.

What I could discern, appeared to be a very small lizard; in and of itself not so strange, except that it is in my apartment.
What WAS strange, is that it appeared to be more like a gecko of some sort, horny skin, streaks from head to talk down it's back.
And it was almost tangerine in color!

Not even sure if I had seen it move or what I was seeing in the first place,
I looked for something I could drop on it, without hurting it.
Then I would put it outside.

Some movement I made set it off and it scurried under my cabinet there.

So now I have an pale orange, alien lizard, hopefully a bug eater,
currently about 2 inches long, in my dining room.
I wish I'd had my camera.
No, I'm not high,😎 true story.
