If people wanted instagram/twitter types of communities they would be thriving on legacy social media, they wouldn't have to wait for web 3. After all, testing that theory out is fairly easy - how many people are actually using DeSo and why did BitClout fail if DeSo is such a great idea?

There was no alternative. As soon as people realize they can earn while shitposting things change rapidly. Look at /r/cryptocurrency before and after people realized that upvotes are actually worth money now that the community is tokenized.

Companies have operational costs and always pay their contributors. Why is a DAO any different and why wouldn't every single micro contribution be rewarded easily? No one likes to work for free, especially if that work is enriching whales.

If you don't give your users the right tools and resources they won't care about your tech and background. How many VCs stood behind bitclot and it still tanked?

Simplicity, value, and efficiency... The only three things ordinary users are looking for. We are still far away from home but I can see a clear path toward success when it comes to Hive.
